| The annual event GI-Days took place in Münster, Germany from 16 to 17 June 2008. Ulrich Boes from Ursit took part in this conference and presented a paper with answers to the question "Is there a Future for Spatial Data Infrastructures?". | The EPISTEP project ended in April 2008 |

| URSIT was the Bulgarian partner in the project Epistep, which started in September 2005. The goal of the project was to enable SMEs participation in ICT European Technology Platforms (ETPs) on e-mobility, Nano-electronics and embedded systems. During the project, URSIT had organized several workshops in Bulgaria and Greece to inform SMEs about the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission and about the Technology Platforms. In 2008, URSIT financed the participation of three Bulgarian SMEs in the ICT JTI Info Day and Brokerage event, 4 April 2008 in Brussels, Belgium. |

| The Intergeo-East conference for product and knowledge transfer in land management, geoinformation, building industry and environmental sectors took place in Belgrade from 18 to 20 February 2008. Ulrich Boes from URSIT reported about the new Sensor Web Enablement Initiative of the Open Geospatial Consortium and its application to disaster management.
