| Importance of developing National Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Republic of Macedonia based on INSPIRE directions |

| This scientific conference will be held on 27th March 2009 (Friday) in Skopje, Federal Republic of Macedonia. The Conference aims at demonstrating the importance of the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) of the Republic of Macedonia based on INSPIRE directions and using GIS technology. Ulrich Boes is part of the team opening and closing the conference and will report on the implementation of INSPIRE in protected areas and for nature conservation in Europe. With Raina Pavlova as co-author, he is publishing a paper with the title "NATUE-SDI+: A best practice case for INSPIRE Implementation in European Protected Areas". | ||

| Ulrich Boes was one of the main organizers of the "Contemporary Activity on SDI in the South East Europe", a workshop that took place in Thessaloniki, Greece, on the 5th and 6th of February 2009. | ISDE 2008, the "Digital Earth Summit on Geoinformatics: Tools for Global Change Research" took place in Potsdam, Germany, from 12 to 14 November 2008. Ulrich Boes from URSIT participated in the summit and reported on new developments in Spatial Data Infrastructures and Disaster Management. The paper is co-authored by Prof. Raina Pavlova and entitled: "Spatial Data Infrastructures by 2020 - where do they go?". It can be downloaded from the conference web site. | ||
