ICT-KOSEU
The ICT-KOSEU project aims at supporting Kosovo to obtain financing for research and development projects in the area of ICT and is funded by the FP7 ICT programme. The project will strengthen the involvement of Kosovo in the European Union's research activities and its integration into the European Research Area by facilitating collaboration of the ICT community in Kosovo with the one in the EU and the Western Balkan Countries.
The objectives of ICT-KOSEU are:
- Identification and analysis of ICT research capacities and priorities in Kosovo.
- Alignment of the national strategies and policies of Kosovo in the area of ICT research and information society with regional and EU strategies.
- Strengthening of cooperative research links between European organisations, organisations from neighbouring countries and relevant organisations in Kosovo.
The partnership includes representatives of the "triple-helix" of ICT research in Kosovo: the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; the University of Prishtina and the Kosovo Association of Information and Communication Technology (STIKK). There are three participants from the EU, the South-East European Research Centre in Greece, European Business Associates in Italy and URSIT Ltd. in Bulgaria.
URSIT Ltd. is the quality assurance manager in the project, is in charge of the training program for obtaining financing from the European Commission's ICT Programme and is at the same time responsible for the development of the web portal of the project.
The project begins with a public presentation of opportunities in the ICT Call 9 of FP7. The event "FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) PROJECTS IN KOSOVO" takes place on Thursday 12 January 2012 at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Pristina, Kosovo.
